Diego Arambula is the Chief Growth Officer at Summit Public Schools, a charter management organization currently operating 6 schools in the Bay Area in California, with 3 more schools set to open in the next two years in California and in Washington State. Diego has worked at Summit Public Schools for nine years in a variety of capacities, beginning as a classroom teacher at Summit Preparatory Charter High School in Redwood City, CA. His current role as the Chief Growth Officer allows him to focus on enhancing Summit’s impact on public education, both through opening new schools and through exploring opportunities to share learning and aspects of Summit’s model. His team has a particular focus on growth strategy, securing charters and facilities, creating partnerships with other schools and Districts, and creating a favorable political and policy environment for all of this work.
Prior to joining Summit Public Schools, Diego worked as Deputy Campaign Manager and then Communications Director for a United States Congressman, working both in Fresno, CA and in Washington, DC. Diego holds a Bachelor of Arts in government with honors from Harvard University and received his teaching credential and a Master’s in Education from Stanford University. The son of a migrant farmworker who used education to change his life’s trajectory, Diego passionately believes in the role public education must play in providing opportunities to every single child.
